Oh, The Words of a Four-Year-Old

Emma and I had quite the interesting conversation the other day. I think that she is still processing how Logan got from mommy's belly to our home. Our conversation was a bit like this:

Emma: Mommy, why is your belly squishy? (thanks, Em!)
Me: Because Logan came out of my belly.
Emma: How did he get out? (This is not the first time she has asked . . . I keep avoiding the direct answer.)
Me: The doctor helped Logan out. (This answer always works.)
Emma: Oh . . . but how? (What????? Seriously? What happened to the simple answer?)
Me: Oh, he's just a really good doctor.
Emma: Oh, okay. (long pause) One time, I had a girl baby in my belly and the doctor helped her come out.
Me: He did? Wow! That was nice of him.
Emma: Yup and I feeded her and she bited me. (Obviously, she had just witnessed me "scolding" Logan for biting during a feeding.)
Me: Well, that wasn't very nice.
Emma: When is your belly going to get bigger so you can have a girl baby, too?
Me: Never.
