Busy Weekend!

On Friday, Matt and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch. Of course, I got NO pictures because my camera was dead. :( Next time I will check the batteries before we leave. Emma had a great time and wanted to get the "littlest pumpkin." Logan smiled throughout the whole hayride . . . I think he liked how much it bounced! When we got home, Emma painted her pumpkin instead of carving it.

On Saturday, we went to my dad's house for a "hotpot." This is a typical meal in China where you throw your veggies and meats into seasoned water, dig it out with chopsticks, and eat it. Emma loved playing with all her cousins and I hardly saw her in the six hours we were there since she was playing so much!

Emma is terrified of bugs and anything creepy crawly (she may be playing off of my irrational fears of the same thing!). When we were at my dad's, Gabriel caught a frog. He promised her a quarter if she would hold it. With the help of daddy, Emma got the courage to hold it. When it was finally in her hands, her whole body shook!! After that, Matt forced me to hold it, and it was the grossest thing I did all weekend!

The bright point of my weekend was that Logan finally laughed for me! He has laughed for both Matt and Emma, but not me. This wasn't for lack of trying on my part, though. On Sunday, Matt went back to work and Emma, Logan, and I recovered our wreck of a house from the busy weekend!
