The Joys of Preschool

Preschool is well underway, and Emma enjoys going to school three days a week (and mommy enjoys her going!). On the way home yesterday, we chatted about how school went that day, just like we always do. Our conversation went something like this:

Her: "My boyfriend bit me today."

Which is more concerning? The fact that she is calling someone her boyfriend or the fact that he bit her?

Me: "Why did he do that?"
Her: "I don't know. He just did."
Me: "Did you cry?"
Her: "No."
Me: "Did you tell your teacher?"
Her: "No."

At this point, I think maybe she is making this up. As we get out of the van, I ask to see where her boyfriend bit her. Sure enough, there on her finger are TEETH MARKS. EWWW!!!! A quick call to Maia and we confirmed through her daughter Malena the child who bit her.

Of course, the mama bear in me wanted to find the boy and bite him back, but instead I called her teacher. I later find out through Emma that they were playing a "biting game," whatever that means. Emma and I had a long talk about how biting is not okay and how she needs to tell her teacher. Hopefully there will be no more biting at school! Gross!
