My Sleeping Beauty

Whew! So far the holiday season has been super busy! The kids had a great time over Thanksgiving. They really enjoy playing with all their aunts, uncles, and cousins, and of course they love all the attention (and food) that they get.

I can't believe how quickly they are growing! I took Emma took the doctor twice, four weeks apart. She had gained two pounds within that one month. I am sure she grew taller, too. Her reading has really taken off. The school put her in a reading group at the beginning of the year to increase her confidence in reading. At the beginning of kindergarten, she could only read a few words, but now she is reading whole books to use and sounding words out. I love it!

Logan is still a handful, but so much fun. The whole kitchen is entirely baby proof now and he hates it! His vocabulary is increasing every day, and I am constantly amazed by what he can understand. Recently, we have begun to put him in time-out for hitting, biting, and not listening. He just sits there in the corner and grins, but I think he gets it. He's probably the kid who the principal will call me about, but at least he is cute! He has recently began to put at us and blow air out of his mouth. We're not sure what he's doing, but he thinks it's hilarious when we do it back.

So, all in all, I am sad my kids are growing so fast, but I am loving each and every stage. One morning, we went to Kate's Kitchen to eat. There was an older couple next to us eating breakfast. I told Matt that that will be us in about thirty years . . . out to breakfast and no kids with us and it would be so sad!!! He said that by then we'll have grand-kids and we can just take our grand-kids with us. Of course!!!

Emma's school recently put on a Cinderella ball for the kindergartners. They had been studying different versions of the story "Cinderella." Emma wore her Sleeping Beauty costume and crown, of course. The "Prince of the Day" got some slippers that he got to try on every girl in the class. His princess was the girl who they most closely matched. Emma was almost there, but not quite!

She danced by herself for awhile.

Then, the boy she calls her boyfriend, Xavier, asked her to dance.

They danced and held hands The. Whole. Time. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about that . . . hmm.
