Logan

Logan recently turned one and I am absolutely loving this age!!! He is learning more and more everyday and becoming more vocal. He has an extreme temper, though! He yells when he doesn't get his way. Emma was sharing a ring pop with him and every time she would take it away to have a lick herself, he yelled. She said, "Mom, Logan won't let me have any of my ring pop." I ended up distracting him with something else, but he got so loud!

He is also such a strong little boy! When I am changing his diaper he will twist to the side to try to crawl away. I try to push him back down and he strains against my hand, all while giggling. Eventually, I win, but he puts up such a great fight! His most recent achievement is learning to shake his head no. If I offer him something that he doesn't want, he shakes his head no. Earlier, I asked him for a hug, and he shook his head no. What a sweet boy . . .

Emma

Emma says to me, "Mom, do doctors ever get sick?"
"Yes, they do," I replied.
"Where do they go when they get sick?" she asks.
"Ummm . . . they go to other doctors."

Torture!

This picture here is Emma acting like an alien. We were at the dino restaurant at The Legends, and she was being her usual goofy self! Such an entertainer!

We have been without air conditioning for the past two days. It's miserable! The kids have been getting up early because they have been so hot. Luckily, Emma is in summer school and gone most of the day and friends have taken pity on us and let us in during the day. :) I am ready for it to be fixed and am not really sure how people live without it.

Logan can now officially get his body into the bathtub all on his own. He LOVES to take a bath and is always standing outside the tub when the water is running. He tries to lift his leg up to get in, and last night he kind of jumped on both feet and threw himself in head first. His head landed right inside the bucket of toys and he cried. Emma was upset because she tried to catch him but wasn't fast enough. What a good sister. :) He is also doing well with his words such as "mama," "dada," and "done." He was such a difficult newborn, but now looking back it seems that the year has gone so quickly. He will be one in less than a week!!!!
